We are now 1% or so away from the 2nd-worst historical Dow crash (Jan 1906 ~ Nov 1907), and more than half way to the worst (Sep 1929 ~ July 1932, -89.5%).Batten down hatches...jose '-)

Those would be nominal (USD-based) %s. The USD lost approx 98% of its 1900 $ value over the last 100 years, so you can imagine how horrendous the real returns would look like.
The Dow dropped 75% in real (gold) terms in the past decade.

So, after ten years the Dow finally breaks even in $ terms.

On the 4th January 2000, the Dow closed at 10,997.93.
More than ten years later (10th April 2010) the Dow closes at 10,997.35, for a net gain of 0% and an interim drawdown of 54% (peak to trough).

Of course, the above stats are based on nominal terms (USD).
In Gold terms, the Dow has dropped more than 75% in the past ten years.

So much for Buy & Hold.

Hello Jose.

I hope and i wish to be well.

Exist a Good or a Product if you like,

that have tremendous more Value rather Gold.

That is the Wheat.

So, it will be interesting to listen from you,

if you have the Numbers,

a comparison to Dow Jones 30 Industrial Average and to Wheat.

From my Side,

i have not right now these Numbers.

Kind Regards,

George Kanellopoulos.

George, I do have the Numbers, but it doesn't make sense (to me) to mix Wheat with the Dow.
You see, one is edible, and the other is a constant source of entertainment.

Anyway, check out the Gold/Oil/Wheat composite vs USD & Euro, updated daily here.
